I am currently offering print access to my 3D printer, the Ender 3 Pro. I have black, silver, white, red, orange, green, & blue 1.75mm PLA plastic.
Current rates:
$5 for 2 hours and $2/hour after that. That figures the cost of materials, electricity, time used on the printer, maintenance, and failure rates of prints. It’s also about half the price of anything else I’ve seen so far. If you send me an STL file / a Thingiverse link, I can give you an estimate on anything. If it happens to be cheaper at another service or I think it should be cheaper, I’ll adjust the pricing to make it work. I also won’t charge for failed prints. You will be able to watch your print live over on Twitch, which I think is pretty cool.
Note: Many places charge per gram, which in my calculations ended up exceeding the cost per hour figure I came up with. I had considered $0.30 per gram with a minimum of $5. If that happens to be cheaper, we can go that route. Also note that ‘pay to use’ 3D printers that are sometimes available have limitations: time limits, file limits, accessibility limits, consultation limits, plus they generally charge for print failures.
