AMD Z-60 Hondo Chip – COD MW2 Playable on Windows 8 Tablets

AMD just announced the specs on their upcoming APU designed for Windows 8 Tablets. The AMD Z-60 APU is clocked at 1Ghz, has ultra-low power consumption, and has an integrated Radeon HD 6250 that is supposed to be able to play Call of Duty MW2 at 1024 x 768 at 30 frames per second.

Battery life on the Z-60 is looking to be decent so far, providing up to 6 hours of 720P video playback, 8 hours of browsing, and 2 weeks of standby on a 30WHr battery. This does fall short of the upcoming Intel Atom Z2760 (Clover Trail), which are getting about 10 hours of 720P video playback with a 30WHr battery.

Z-60 APU Specs:

CPU: 1.0 GHz Dual Core, 1MB L2 Cache, 4.5W TDP

GPU: AMD Radeon HD 6250

GPU Core Clock: 276 MHz

RAM: DDR3-1066/DDR3L-1066

USB 3.0 Support
