T-Mobile Expands 4G Coverage to More Cities, LTE 2013

T-Mobile just added several more cities to their growing “4G” HSPA+ network, while also expanding their 42Mbps service to several more cities currently equipped with HSPA+ towers. Since the AT&T buyout was halted, LTE has been their next venture. T-Mobile recently announced their plan to pursuit expanding their data network, planning to launch LTE service in 2013. With no AT&T merger, T-Mobile has more AWS spectrum free to develop LTE and expand their HSPA+ further.

They haven’t said 100% whether or not the purposed 84Mbps service would be pursued, but it looks like they are currently focusing their efforts on expanding their HSPA+ networks.

New HSPA+ cities :

  • Abilene, Amarillo, Odessa, and Victoria, Texas
  • Bakersfield, California
  • Joplin and St. Joseph, Missouri
  • Eau Claire, Wisconsin

New 42Mbps HSPA+ cities:

  •  Abilene
  • Amarillo
  • Bakersfield
  • Odessa
  • Port St. Lucie
  • Victoria
