How to Install NVidia RTX Voice Without a RTX Card

NVidia released a program that uses AI to filter out background noise from your microphone called RTX Voice. It requires an RTX Graphics card, so if you have an older NVidia card, the installer won’t work and will give you an error message. This is a way around that so you can use this program.

The first thing you need to do is download the RTX Voice program from Nvidia. As of writing this, the version is v0.5.12.6.

NVidia RTX Voice Download

When you go to run the installer without an RTX card, you get this message:

“NVIDIA RTX Voice Application is not supported on your existing GPU. An RTX enabled GPU is needed for this application to run.”

Go ahead and close that. You need to navigate to the following folder: C:\Temp\NVRTXVoice\NvAFX\

Edit the following file as an administrator: RTXVoice.nvi

Remove the following:

<constraints>
    <property name="Feature.RTXVoice" level="silent" text="${{InstallBlockedMessage}}"/>
</constraints>

Save the file. Then go up one folder: C:\Temp\NVRTXVoice\

Run setup.exe

Open RTX Voice, pick your microphone, and select “Remove background noise from my microphone”.

Through your sound settings, set your default output to whatever headphones or speakers you use normally and set your input to NVidia RTX Voice.

Just keep in mind that this program is in beta and is resource intensive, so your mileage may vary. I’m using a GTX 1060 6GB and it seems to be fine with that on Discord. If you have any issues, send feedback through the link on the bottom right of the program.
